What you’ll experience as an extern
Our externship program gives veterinary students an immersive experience in the animal hospital setting, where they’ll be able to:
- Witness medical leadership in action
- Do case rounds with veterinarians
- Build case management strategies
- Assume the veterinarian’s role in managing medical records
- Learn valuable client communication tips to enhance medical outcomes
- Determine and perform critical diagnostics and treatment-related procedures
- Sit in on hospital meetings
- Join the surgical team from check-in, to scrub-in, to discharge
