Our Internship Program is structured for candidates wishing to go onto a Residency Program, a Specialty Internship (Small Animal Internal Medicine & Small Animal Surgery Information linked below), and those who wish to become ABVP in Primary Care Practice. We offer a balance of independence, supervision, support, and teaching in a comfortable, friendly environment. The program is structured to be challenging, flexible, supportive, and professional. THIS IS NOT a "beat up the intern", or the intern is a "go-for" program. Please contact our current or previous interns for more information.

CORAL SPRINGS ANIMAL HOSPITAL (www.coralspringsanimalhosp.com) is AAHA certified, in Specialty Surgery, Specialty Internal Medicine, Specialty Oncology, Specialty Cardiology, Specialty Emergency/Critical Care and Primary Care Practice. We are open 24/7/365. The hospital is located in SE Florida near Ft. Lauderdale. In the fall of 2008, we relocated into a totally new state of the art 38,000 square foot building. We were awarded Veterinary Economics Magazine's coveted "Hospital of the Year Award" in 2012.

Interns rotate through the Specialty services ("one on one" with the specialist), Primary Care, and Emergency/CC. THERE IS NO OVERNIGHT DUTY "ALONE" FOR THE FIRST SIX WEEKS! A SUPERVISING EXPERIENCED EMERGENCY CLINICIAN IS ON DUTY MONDAYS THROUGH THURSDAYS UNTIL 2 A.M. AND UNTIL 8:00 A.M. ON FRIDAYS, SATURDAYS, AND SUNDAYS.

Formal Rounds are held from 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM Daily. Teaching Rounds (M&M, Cytology, Clinician Lectures, Journal Club, etc.) are three times weekly from 8-9 AM. Our specialists regularly lecture the Interns on clinical subjects of interest, and provide direct in depth supervision of all Intern cases.

Full–time specialties are Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Neurology, Critical Care, and Cardiology. Part-time are Radiology (1 day/mo.), Dermatology (2 days/wk), Dentistry (1 day/week), Ophthalmology (one day/wk) and Behavior (4 -6 days/mo). Radiology is digital. All imaging studies are reviewed by our five staff boarded radiologists. Elective outside rotations are available.
