Veterinarian Infomation:

Surgery

A wide variety of soft tissue and orthopedic procedures are performed by the surgeons at Coral Springs Animal Hospital. While under general anesthesia, your pet is closely monitored by our veterinary nursing staff including ECG to monitor heart rate and rhythm, respiration rate, blood pressure, oxygen level, and pulse quality similar to what you’d expect in a human hospital. Ventilators are used to control respiration under anesthesia. Intravenous fluid therapy and other medications are given as needed throughout the procedure. After surgery, close monitoring of vital signs continues in our intensive care unit until there is complete recovery from anesthesia. Pain medications are used to keep your pet comfortable.

Our surgeons collaborate with the other specialists at Coral Springs Animal Hospital in oncology, internal medicine, and cardiology to provide complete, overall care of our patients. In-house diagnostic techniques including digital radiography, fluoroscopy (real time radiology), ultrasound, and scoping equipment allow us to perform any necessary procedures to help our patients. Minimally invasive techniques (thoracoscopy, laparoscopy, arthroscopy, and fluoroscopy) are utilized when possible to increase visualization and to decrease recovery time and postoperative pain.
